Hiding? Have you seen videos of these guys that catch them? You can just walk around and find them they are all over
In the past 2 years I’ve taken 8 trips to the Everglades/Big Cypress. I’ve found 734 snakes. Only 2 of those have been pythons. The contractors who catch them regularly have access to gated areas (like roadways along canals/levee roads) that aren’t accessible to the public. And some guys are going deep into areas only accessible by boat.
They are not that easy to find. On roads that are readily accessible, they drive very slowly on the shoulder or in the grass alongside the shoulder of the road and shine the tree line with spotlights from the back of a pickup or on platforms mounted on trucks - and come up empty quite often.

Are you a professional Florida Man hunter?
I guess you could say that
Except all states in the southeast versions of Florida Man. Trust me, there are versions in every state that only vary in their physical attributes slightly

I never understood why the python wranglers had to take the pythons alive. AR-15 and then cut off the head and turn in the head for the bounty money.

how much Tylenol does it take to kill a large python
Determining the lethal dose of Tylenol (acetaminophen) for a large python is complex, as it depends on the snake's species, size, and individual physiology. However, research provides some insight into acetaminophen's toxicity in reptiles, including snakes like pythons.Studies show that snakes are highly sensitive to acetaminophen due to their lack of enzymes needed to metabolize it, leading to acute methemoglobinemia, a condition where hemoglobin cannot transport oxygen, causing respiratory failure and death. For example, a study on brown tree snakes (Boiga irregularis) found that an oral dose of 80 mg of acetaminophen was 100% lethal within 12–24 hours for snakes weighing 47–300 g. Another study noted that 80 mg was also lethal for Burmese pythons (Python molurus bivittatus), though specific weight ranges for the pythons were not detailed.

Why not just allow people to kill them? Every show I see, the person catches them to relocate them. Why not allow people to simply decapitate them, turn the heads in for money, and call it a day?

Seems like a remote control 22 with rat shot perched near the bait would be a lot easier than sending someone out to the site.

They don't relocate them, that is illegal to do. They just kill them "humanely" off camera.

she’s far and away the most interesting part of this thread

There is a camp that thinks its immoral, unethical and inhumane to kill them with Tylenol and live bait. I suspect that the conservation departments have way too many of those types to be effective at eradicating this invasive species.

The fact these snakes are so prolific at breeding and have eaten almost all of the smaller mammals in the southern Everglades where not so many people go is why these round-ups won't work. Looks to me like Peta syndrome in the state services responsible for eradication.
Live bait of thousands of rats and rabbits with a lethal package is the only thing that will work, but for some reason it has not been tested, developed and applied.

A large python, such as a Burmese or Reticulated Python, can lay between 20 to 100 eggs per clutch, with an average of 30 to 50. The exact number depends on the species, size, age, and health of the female. For example, larger species like the Reticulated Python may produce up to 80-100 eggs,
