Many people say "an armed society is a polite society." Many of these same people say "don't pull a gun unless you mean to use it."

Not sure how you reconcile these statements (at least one of which I believe in) with blaming the shooter in this scenario.

He should go to jail, because he started shooting. Don't chase people with your truck, though. Don't take pictures of people trying to do their jobs.

I don’t understand. Do you know more about the incident than provided in the article?

He should go to jail? He should go to prison.
He has no regard for human life and is reckless with a firearm.

That's true, but you need the one before the other.

I really didn't get a whole lot out of that article. It kind of doesn't match the video. In the video it looks like the truck is approaching the car from behind at a high rate of speed.

I didn't either but perhaps the driver of the truck sped up when he saw the shooter.

I don't know about you, but I usually slow down and come to a complete stop when I see someone in front of me get out with a gun and start shooting at me

See what had happened was...the truck was followed into his neighborhood by the shooter in the car. He stopped just up the road at a stop sign where the shooter in the car then veered around him. It sped up then pulled over. The shooter then gets out and starts shooting. You know the rest.

Truck was the victim, just for the sake of conversation.

Victim was followed home by perp.
Victim pulls into driveway and perp seemingly drives down the street.
Vicitm decides to get license plate and starts following perp.
Perp notices, gets out and starts shooting.

Thats how I took the article and video.

I looks like they came up with a plan to get out in front of the truck so they could open fire with the driver approaching them. Color me shocked. The colored BOY will just sharpen his thuggery in prison for when he's released to do it all over again.

How in the hell do you have your first shot hit the road 20 feet in front of you?

Luck had nothing to do with that.

The car followed the white truck into the white truck's neighborhood. White truck realized at the last second right before turning into his driveway that he was being followed. He took off -- made some turns and ends up getting behind the car, in an attempt to get license plate of the car.

side not to that video.
That black mailbox was replace because I ran over it years ago. Long story short, going fishing early one morning hungover. When I turned that corner, my 32oz gatorade fell over to the floor. I leaned over to pick it up and the truck straightened up and rolled clean over the old mailbox.

I wish that was on video

The article says otherwise

I read Slidell PD's actual press release... not the story written from the press release...

Slidell Police actually said in the press release that the driver of the pickup truck realized something was wrong and worked his way behind the car in an effort to get the license plate number to report to the police... and then what happened in the video happened

the writer of the news story made a pretty big omission if they did actually leave that part out... got to put that in the story to help explain the video
