The water moves too slow. We can't stand the lake kayaking in Louisiana.

Bogue Chitto or Wolf River in Mississippi is a great group kayak trip with the perfect pace of moving water. We bring a small ice chest and we don't have to do much paddling other than steering. There are plenty of sand bars to stop and take a break also.

With a state with so much water, it is funny that the kayaking culture hasn't caught on. Most people I know that have kayaks have either motorized ones, or fishing sized monstrosities with every bell and whistle you can imagine.

A lot of folks are scared to kayak. As they think that you will flip over and drown inside of it.

We have a lot of older kayakers in our little cove in early morning. Whole gaggle of little old ladies kayaking for their exercise at 6:00 am every day. I enjoy watching them from my deck while drinking mimosas. The lake isn’t a real place.

I've wondered why no one has a kayak business down Manchac. Park at Fred's with shuttles/launches at Big John's landing, Muddy Creek, Jefferson Hwy or Airline Hwy.

It's been many years, but growing up the Blackwater river in north Okaloosa/Santa Rosa County was good and also the Chipola River in Calhoun County was always fun.

everything is probably shut down the next week or so in central TX. The rains have the flow rate set to death level.

Cartecay in Elijay, GA is fun if you're in the Blue Ridge area.

May means Cahaba Lilies here in central Alabama. I'd recommend the Cahaba River, the Little Cahaba River, the Tallapoosa River, or perhaps Hatchet Creek.
