Or seek advice from an Attorney just because he was related to someone

But I do know what you mean. It does happen

That’s a training school for continuing education that pilots from all over the world come to. If you actually knew the ideas and technology behind what you were talking about you’d be shocked

How long are the river pilots gone at a time? I honestly don’t care what these guys make. Capitalism is a beautiful thing. Just give every qualified individuals the same opportunity.
NOBRA and Crescent work one week on one week off while Bat works 2 weeks on 2 weeks off. I’m not sure about the Lake Charles pilots

Why does a river pilot get paid 3x what a similarly credentialed captain does sailing ATBs, Drillships, MPSVs, etc? Although some may be hawsepipers, and thus not graduates from a maritime academy, they all passed the same exams and have comparable sea service.

You cannot join an association without a 4 year degree from one of those schools. Also in order for you to get a degree from one of those schools you have to go through a rigorous academic course load with Coast Guard requirements, and also pass a 7 test CG exam where you most of the tests require a 90% to pass.

I guess English isn’t part of the curriculum at any of these esteemed institutions.

Your odds of getting medical into medical school go way up if one of your parents was a physician, to the point of being selected over someone with higher grades and test scores, says my physician wife that was on a med school selection committee for years.

Pilots across the US tend to make more usually because their specialized to their body of water. You wouldn’t have an orthopedist take out your appendix. They all have the same basic education similar to doctors but some specialize in other things

Many many doctors and lawyers take over family firms and clinics over the years

Same with car dealerships

Same with politics

God damn some of you people are so naive

Yes they get paid about 650,000 as I said before but they are considered independent contractors and thus have to pay about half of that back in taxes. So let’s just say they take home about 375,000 which is still great money.

In Louisiana first you have to be born into the correct family.

This. I know of someone who I went to high school with who's father was a pilot. Her brother is also a pilot to nobody's surprise.
