Ripple Effect of Driverless Cars

it seems pretty inevitable that driverless cars will be the standard sooner rather than later.
There could be some remarkable changes that come from this:
1) car insurance no longer exists
2) no more driving tickets
3) cops no longer patrol streets for speeders etc.
4) towns no longer get $ from these tickets to pay for police
5) DUI's and texting while driving virtually go away
6) Driving deaths become as rare as plane crashes
7) Morris Bart goes bankrupt
Anything else you can foresee?

Cops will not allow driverless cars and force people to drive drunk so that they can keep their jobs.

Insurance will still be around unless you want to pay out of pocket when you don't update your software and it spazzes out on you one day.

Body shops will lose tons of business because of the dramatic increase in wrecks
A whole new industry of workers who specialize in fixing the computers/sensors for the cars in addition to regular mechanics

People will leave the big cities for suburbs. If I can do work, or watch tv while drinking coffee on my way to work, I wouldn't mind an hour commute.

They'd still need insurance. Machines aren't perfect and there would be times when you'd have to take over for the car.

What if you wanted to go off road for some reason or on a road that isn't mapped? They will always have manual override options.
But I agree cops won't be around as much because speeding would be so infrequent.

I have also read that many of the major car manufactures will go bankrupt because their business model is built around up charges for numerous options. When driverless cars are prevalent there will not be as much incentive to own your own car. Just dial one up on Uber (or equivalent) and one will show up. Average person spends 11% of income on car but only uses it 3% of time. Big savings if you can eliminate one or both cars in a household.
