81, that's a good run. I'll take anything in the 80's for the age I kick the bucket!

I am shocked he outlived his sister Penny. She was supposedly on her way out due to lung cancer about 5 years ago but appears to be fine now.

Shame. He was funny to listen to and occasionally would put himself as a cameo in the shows. Penny is a talented director herself.

Most people here will know him for Happy Days, but his greatest show was The Odd Couple, one of the GOAT sitcoms

RIP

Not gonna lie, I always thought this too...but it is not so.

Marshall is survived by his wife, Barbara, to whom he was married since 1963; son Scott, a film director; and daughters Lori, an actress and casting director, and Kathleen, an actress; a number of grandchildren; and sisters Penny Marshall, an actress and film director, and Ronny Hallin, a TV producer.

He was 35 when he created and produced that.

Funny and smart guy. He did a long interview on Marc Maron's WTF podcast not long ago, and he was sharp as a tack.
