In the 90's, FSU was like Clemson is today. But they were that way for over a decade going into the early 2000's.

Honestly kind of a sad loss. He always seemed like a great guy who told it like it was. 1990's cool.

There's a bit of nostalgia in that era I guess. But dang there were some awesome men who loved the game. I can only imagine at 91 what he had to say about where it's all headed.

RIP Coach Bowden

quote:

Unprecedented? He won two national championships! I get that it is a eulogy, but for goodness sake, keep it real.

He took a program that lost EVERY game. hey had no history. Everyone played them for homecoming. He actually did build a program.

When he was building FSU they would play anyone, anywhere. When Nebraska was one of the best teams in the country FSU went to Lincoln 2 years in a row and won both. Put the 'Noles on the map

This statement within its context represents the epitome of a miserable person.
That’s keeping it real.

Fact…….when he got there in 1976 they were coming off seasons of 1-10 And 0-11. By 1979 they were playing Oklahoma in the Orange Bowl… amazing…. Dare I say that’s even better than what Saban did at Bama.

What a legend. Being at an age where he and Paterno were giants in college football, I'm especially grateful for Bobby considering he was actually a great man. RIP

I got to see Coach Bowden on the sideline once. Unfortunately it was the BAMA/FSU game from 2007 in Jacksonville. Worst football game ever
