Do YOU have any first hand knowledge of someone fired in the elevator?

What difference does it make if it is true or false? The fact that the story even exists speaks volumes.

So my original point of the elevator story is supported by your story that you don't know someone fired on the elevator.

Lol. Correct. I don’t, nor did I ever claim to, know anyone fired on the elevator.

I simply shared a story told to me. Wasn’t even in response to anything you posted. Then you replied to my post.. essentially calling it bullshite.

If I wanted to spread bullshite, I could have just lied and claimed I did see it first hand. You realize that, don’t you?

I completely do. A boss dealing bullshite that he pays someone too much for buying coffee vs free coffee sounds like a place I want to work. Sounds like good banter.

Firing on the elevator for riding 2 floors with latte feels like bs.

I only say this because I have know a few dozen people who worked for Shaw and had a good experience but still tell the same exact story about "knowing" it happened. No one has a name or details though, just the story.

By all accounts, Jim was absolutely brilliant and driven to succeed. Few people get to that position in life and accomplish the things he did without ruffling a few feathers and breaking a few eggs along the way.

As Bill Burr says, 99% of CEOs are absolute fricking psychopaths. You don’t get in those positions by having empathy, compassion, or good will toward Man.

Is his wife a nice person? Asking for a friend.
No. They had a living room rug they paid paid 6 figures for. They kept bragging about the damn rug to everyone and would scream and holler at any staff members who went near it. Total assholes.

Had one meeting with the man. I felt sorry for his employees in the room. When he walked into the room it was like all the oxygen got sucked out. He looked at himself in the mirror and i told my partner when we left that we’d never do business with that arrogant prick. His poor employees. No reason to treat people like he treated those guys.

I have no idea about the elevator story but i can believe it. I know a person could suffocate in one with him.

The Register likely still has the nip slip of her somewhere in their files. Happened 25 years or so ago

Horse shite. You can be a driven, ruthless, cunning tycoon without being a complete cocksucker to people. Especially the people who work for you.
His rudeness wasn’t a product of his business acumen. It was rooted in his abhorrent belief that he was better than others.

Face it. The guy was a dick.
I've duck hunted with 3 people with more wealth than he had and they were down to earth real good dudes.

No but I know a story about an employee drinking Starbucks coffee when he provided a different brand for his employees. Mellow Joy I think. He suggested that if she can afford Starbucks he must be paying her too much.

When they switched from Community to Mellow Joy, I thought it was going to trigger a mutiny. People used to chip in to buy Community and, from what I remember, it started a bit of a shitshow because the Mellow Joy reps were saying they weren’t able to restock because the current stock never moved

His latest venture - Tiger Energy Partners - was forced onto CenTrio after Bernhard lost the bid to upgrade LSU infrastructure. Smelled like a political favor.

I can say unequivocally that there is very little truth to this statement. And Centrio did incredibly dubious things to win that job and have utterly fricked it up from day one. Blaming that on Bernhard is like saying Desiree Charbonnet is responsible for Teedy’s destruction of New Orleans.

Mello Joy may be the worst coffee on the planet. Making your employees drink that shite is cruel in and of itself.
