I know a couple people that both end every other sentence with

“ Does that make sense?? “

It’s like a place holder for them explaining to me that they aren’t sure they are able to articulate their problem or issue.

It’s this stupid new trend of the word “drip” that I can’t stand.

Sometime in the last 5-10yrs, people started beginning all their sentences with “So…”. It’s fricking maddening.

It’s up there with the CA accents (Valley Girl, ending -ing words with “-een” sounds) on the scale of verbal shite that annoys TF out of me.

Anyone else tired of the assholes that urinate on you during conversations. I swear it happens to me at least once a week. Right?

Yes it’s a new type of verbal pause that’s spreading like a disease. If you listen to many podcasts, it’s all over the place. Really annoying.

Um, the OT seems obsessed with the word "right". I'm not sure why, right? How do you say "right" in German? Is it a different word if referring to a direction instead a question of affirmation?

Neither “right” nor “um” have anything on “literally”. That fricking word can’t die fast enough.

Humans pick up speech patterns from the media they consume. We are products of our environment.

I notice that I overuse, "Just."

Exactly. <-- That's another word I use a lot when I agree with someone.

I'm ready for some kind of ChatGPT style bot to handle all my conversations, so I can get back to not doing all the things I need to do.

its a tell for me. When I hear someone say it, I immediately assume theyre not completely sure of their opinion and trying to convince me without having to explain more
