Most pharmaceutical options will be Carbidova Levadopa, Mirapex, Requip and a host of other Parkinsons disease meds. What works for me is half of a narcotic like Hydrocodone because it surpresses your central nervous system.

Why let it bother you. It's probably good for circulation. Better than deep vein thrombosis.

I had a long overnight flight and took 2 benadryls to knock me out. I didn't know that they also amplified by RLS. Worse night ever. Hence, I discovered sinus medication activates mine big time.

Requip
or Ropinerol (sp*)

I take this occasionally when my legs act up really bad. I can tell when it will be a bad night after a shower and relaxing on recliner. This medicine works great but the problem for me is it tends to make me super groggy the next morning.

Think I've developed this within the last year. I'm thinking it's related to low potassium.

I have restless legs off and on. I low 2.5 mg dose of Ambien works for me.

I can be just about the drift off when tension builds up in my leg. I try to ignore it and repress it, but then my leg jumps involuntarily and there goes the sleep. Once I get to sleep, it doesn't bother me the rest of the night.

My mother had it and would get up some nights and pace back and forth for hours.

Don't know of any home remedies. It runs in my family, I have it but it hasn't gotten so bad that it is a issue. I have 2 cousins that take medicine for it and it works. Ask your Dr about it.

See if a weighted blanket does the trick. Make sure it’s the proper size and weight for your bed.

I have had rls for close to 50 years. It is hereditary in my family-mom, aunt,2 of my brothers and 3 of my daughters. Mine is idiopathic, ie no known cause; secondary rls is due to underlying conditions. Parkinson’s drugs work better in secondary RLS treatment. I was prescribed some at one time and it augmented my condition, so dr told me it is idiopathic.

I have found that sinus meds, benadryl and even otc rls meds intensify the symptoms instead of helping.

I took oxy or hydro every night for years, sometimes with a soma, and the oxy/hydro were like a miracle drug-near instant relief. I have stopped all that and now partake THC gummies and they help tremendously. Just have to take early enough so they kick in before symptoms start.

For those that don’t know, it feels like worms crawling around under your skin and you have no choice but to kick, stretch, jerk, walk, stand on your tiptoes etc to relieve the symptoms - you cannot fight it or suffer thru it. I mostly get it in my knee or ankle area, both legs. It is not unusual for me to get it in my elbows, wrists, hips.

I have found that late evening exercise can actually bring on symptoms.

Wouldn't know. Been having this RLS thing since I was a kid. It has long become natural to me. Doesn't bother me much. Definitely not enough to justify drugs, especially narcotics like some here are suggesting.

Try kratom while you still can...specifically 7oh chewable tabs. Tastes nasty, but works like a charm for me. Stockpile for the next month while it's still available.
