That's a rather absolute statement given your anecdotal experience.

to be fair, restaurants are dying off anyway
How does this reconcile with the fact that for the first time in history in 2016 Americans spent more on prepared food than purchasing food to prepare at home?

Americans Now Spend More at Restaurants Than Grocery Stores

Restaurants close all the time, it is a risky business. This has zero to do with increasing the minimum wage towards a living wage.

I'm not in the mood to debate this issue but what I just said is a fact.

60 out of how many?

Minimum wage impact is such an easily understood economic from-to.

Link?

And it's going to be a domino effect to other businesses. Think about it. If you're working a semi-skilled job making $16-18 an hour, and some dude washing dishes at a diner is making $15/hour, are you going to be happy with what you're making? Nope. Other businesses are going to have to shell out more as well for their employees, and yay...everyone makes more but everything now needs to be much more expensive so businesses can stay open, so we've really gotten nowhere.

The minimum wage in California is $10.50. While I don't think giving a small increase on minimum wage is a bad thing, I will say this. How much do police make? If a minimum wage worker, was making $15.00 an hr and worked 40hrs, that's $31,200.

In general, I always thought minimum wage was suppose to be just enough to get people by in life and it is just enough to give people the incentive to work harder to work their way up to earn more. In reality, I know that there are some people who can only find minimum wage jobs and they are trying to feed their families off of that, but a $4.50 increase is a little too much..

Well if you just got back from California, there is no way to refute that.

Why do you hate people who want to earn a living wage?

they may be dying off, but adding a few bucks to the minimum wage is not he reason why

Each employee in California is a $10,400 dollar increase per year from the existing hourly rate to the $15 dollar rate and that's not including overtime or benefits.

10 an hour = $20,800
15 an hour = $31,200

you took that the wrong way, I'm saying that raising the wage of the lowest part of the food chain of a restaurants' payroll by a few bucks is not going to be the demise of the establishment

Do you all even understand the MPC? If you increased wages at the bottom across the board it would actually have a positive long term effect on the economy. If people have more money they can demand more goods and services. If the supply can't be met, it would only inspire new suppliers of said goods and services to enter the market to meet the supply. Money would trickle up and every one wins.
