I know a couple of engineers who were aboard. Truly unbelievable what those guys went thru. Boat listing 30 degrees, no way for a helicopter to land, not that one could get to them anyway. He said everyone was huddled in the hallways, life jackets on, wondering if they were going to drown. Lawsuits aplenty incoming and the Globetrotter is headed to a scrap yard.

Have any of you that know someone on it talked to them? I’m reading — yeah I know Facebook — someone who posted an update I’ll try to screenshoot and post.

There are any immediate plans to get them. WHAT. THE. F*CK.

My God it’s like Seacor Power all over again — :sort of — but the company can’t just do nothing.

Hate to hear this for my oil field baws. Been outhere 23 years. I will be looking at my money at the end of the year to try and retire early! I truly believe at the end of the day the oil companies don’t care about us. As long as the oil and gas is flowing or, no “non productive time” is reported, that’s all that matters!

NO they don't and I'm not even in the O&G industry and can see that. Someone on FB is being threatened for sharing the videos she's gotten from spouse/friend/family/something and told to remove them.

If anyone dies from this someone/some peoples heads will roll.

Covid
Seacor
Hurricanes
This

It all sucks.

SOMEONE needs to do SOMETHING. How long can it take to get a boat/boats out there? I think it said 40 miles.

SOMEONE needs to start doing something ... and I have no ties to a soul on there but my God these companies making decisions suck.

Yeah, I would have quit a long time ago and told everyone on that boat to eat a dick. As soon as I got to shore, I’d have lawyers lined up waiting.

But Prom they can't even get to the freaking shore. Their company is saying "all is well" and video from the ship shows otherwise.

And someone earlier in here said they were told that they were running short on cigarettes .. for some that could push them over the edge for sure I'm guessing.

Calm down. They obviously have power and supplies. Those rigs are nicer than many hotels. They aren't in any danger now. I've been on two separate rigs much smaller and crappier that almost went down in storms.

ok red ... I will. Question: did your rigs that you were ever on take on water? Honest question and if the answer is yes and things were fine then I'll feel better. They're being told to pump the water out. My question is pump it out and doesn't it come right back in??

Who is doing the threatening? What's the name?

Captain said in the video in the OP that the drill ship is taking on water.

If this is all true, they may not be in trouble at the moment but that can change very quickly in this situation.

My decks were under 3 feet of water and we couldn't sound the ballast tanks. So yes. We had 30 foot waves breaking over the rig and had a fire break out in the engine room at one point. Pumping out ballast on a floating drill ship is fine so long as the pumps can keep up and their pumps are obviously keeping up fine.

At what point does the Coast Guard become involved? Surely they can send a cutter to get these guys?

She didn't say who's doing the threatening ... I'd tell you if I knew.

This is also posted: "It was on KLFY at noon. It's true. Supposedly they can't get a big enough transport to rescue all of them at one time, and it's taking in water. Pumps working but only a matter of time"

You would think that they wouldn't worry about getting them all at once ... send multiple boats if need be?

When they declare a state of emergency.

Those aren't normal conditions either but this ship just went through 80 footers. There's apparently a lot of damage to this drill ship to where it's too dangerous for the hands to even go out on deck. Plus the ship is listing.
