In the case of the Columbine killers, they did it more out of a sense of entertainment. It was just an easy way to figure out who they'd shoot next.

I really hope John Oliver does a piece on this over the media's hypocrisy on this issue.

I think they should be strung up naked and their tiny little dicks made fun of. Make sure these dipshits are treated in the most derogatory manner possible. Laugh at their asses. They do it as their revenge, to leave this world as a big shot. Put their faces on urinal piss mints and shite. Totally tear them down. You do this...we are gonna roast your stupid arse and make you a fricking punchline to a million jokes. Or they're really fricking nuts and there is no way to deter them. I like public desecration and humiliation. I'd prefer live subjects, but strip his sorry arse and make him a world wide joke.

It's not too far fetched to think that little information release was fabricated, or he did it to make himself go down in history. What other information has been released about the guy other than random tweets from CNN and people claiming to be there? Don't even know who it was yet.
Even if he did hate Christians, why would it be taking so long to just release his actual name? So far, I've heard two "confirmed" different people

Yeah, a reporter from NBC talked to the "EggMan" and confirmed he is alive. So nothing there. Just an effed up individual who hasn't killed anyone yet.

These people don't give a frick about living. They care about glory. And how many of these guys are caught? Just the Colorado and SC shooter on the top of my head. That will not deter them whatsoever. And even if they are captured alive, they'll go down like martyrs, which may inspire future killers even more.
Best course of action is to get realistic diagnosis on what causes these sorts of massacres, the apparent signs of it, and then family and friends can recognize it and get them help before they go on a spree. It sure as shite isn't going to help broadcasting these murderers' life history for months on end instead of their victims, and then allowing their actions to change entire national laws over something barely related and merely used as a scapegoat.
If the media was responsible, they'd be doing long stories on the victims, showing how these butchers have directly affected their loved one's lives, report on what visible signs future psychotic killers may possess, and if these future killers have any shred of humanity whatsoever, maybe they'll think twice and seek help for their psychotic thoughts after realizing the families he will permanently ruin seeking glory..... but no, frick that; it doesn't pull in the ratings. Let's give these killers' actions legislative power, obsess over every little detail in these psychos lives the way E! obsesses over the Kardashians, and then boil it down to one barely related thing. That will stop these killers.
