Wow, here goes Obama. On national TD, immediately following this horrible murder scene, blaming gun laws. Unbelievable.

Never waste a crisis.

He was already talking about it quite truly within about 90 minutes of the story breaking.

The man is mentally sick. I mean that in all sincerity.

"If it saves one life!!!!"

"Don't ask me about sanctuary cities!"

Reasonable people can disagree on gun control, but he's an opportunist piece of shite

It's wholly inappropriate for him to argue over this at this time. All the facts are not even in.

His supporters would argue that he is a saviour, and the greatest American living. Think about that for a minute, while you're watching this deranged human speak to you like you are a mentally retarded underling.

By my count, this is the 15th shooting incident at home or abroad on which Pres Obama is making a statement.

The same reason things like Stormfront and Free Republic are around-- in the US we don't regulate speech by non-state actors and I'm assuming the servers are offshore and not vulnerable to lawsuits (4chan would have been screwed with the Fappening if they weren't insulated from lawsuits).

Free Republic isn't in the same category as Stormfront IMO. Free Republic is no worse than DU. Which means crazy, but not particularly problematic, IMO.

For the most part I agree, I do think they've had some marginal posters who went nuts though. But again, I don't think the state should regulate speech-- I mean Brevik in Norway pretty heavily cited some American anti-Muslim bloggers in his manifesto but I don't think they should be arrested for it unless they had prior knowledge and/or directly incited violence (either via command or in a roundabout Henry II kind of way).

Its ugly, and if its directed at a specific individual that individual should have legal recourse but hate speech, even violent hate speech shouldn't be overtly regulated (excepting intimidation-- i.e. burning a cross on your own lawn if a Black family moves in next door-- that I can see as problematic and actionable given the obvious intent) the first amendment is sacrosanct it's literally the bedrock of American Democracy.

Will be interesting to see how the BLM-ish girl in Atlanta thing shakes out on this front.

More than 2 a year, this isn't great but there's no clear solution that would get any real traction and is clearly constitutional.

I'm not listening to him any longer.

I wonder what he would say if someone went in and killed people with a knife.

Any details on the shooter being released other than being a confirmed male?

He's right about what? He's a SJW hack who could give a frick about some students in Oregon. He's appeasing his hand-wringing "we hate people who like guns because they live in red states" base with this shite.

He couldn't care less about dead human beings, assuming they're U.S. citizens. He is focused on politics, above life or family. I think the office has truly gotten to him and he is mentally deranged.

Whatever.

He's trying to make sure shite like this doesn't happen again. And again, and again.

I thought his speech was solid, but his "common sense" gun legislation is pretty broad. Need to hear some more specifics.

But I don't expect many on here to agree with me.
