Basically:
99% of the posters there are anonymous (refered to as anons)
The threads are similar in theme to reddit(4chan is a darker and more twisted reddit in essence)
It's commonly referred to as the butthole of the internet and many memes have come from there.
4chans anonymous nature needs to be eliminated IMO.

The attention that the media gives to these tragedies has to be addressed. A bunch of message board nerds watch this shite and want to be the next famous killer.
IMO sensationalizing this crap is a reason behind its prevalence.
It's the same logic behind not giving a streaker any attention on a football broadcast.
