They don't release the names of sexual crimes but the guy was charged with second degree rape (not sure what the difference is between first degree)

LSUPD is a phenomenal department. They train at the same academy as the EBR Sheriff's deputies and other law enforcement from the area.
They don't get the credit they deserve because as college cops, they mostly deal with bullshite calls, but they are certainly on the same level as BRPD and EBRSO, just a smaller department.
I've found them to be much more patient and less tense, too. I guess that comes with the perceived safety of working on a college campus and not in the ghetto.

Anyone catch the single line in the WBRZ report that it took 25 minutes from her 911 call until units arrived at the Government Street location? No wonder the rapist drove off. Someone seriously dropped the ball on this. Sounds like the guy should have been arrested on the spot.
