Window World came out today & gave me an estimate. $350 per. Thought it seemed a tad high, but I really have no clue. Was an extra $35 per because I'm getting beige instead of white. Either way, I'd like to get another estimate or 2. What yall say? What's the one that Moscona promotes?

Careful with those guys. Two people I know conveniently gotten their houses broken into a few days after Window World finished the job....

Eta one guy was in Tennessee and the other in Alabama, fwiw.

Are your windows larger than standard? We had Window World windows installed at about $180 each, maybe less. It has been a few years though.

WW prices are hard to beat, you probably have several specialized type windows upping price

My house was about 14k or so to replace, want to do it soon

I think they're 30x84. What's standard?

Be careful with getting double insulated as I have had nothing but trouble with mine getting condensation in them (General Aluminum brand).

I have spent hundreds and have had some units replaced 3x. Judging by how many windows around BR I see with condensation in the windows it seems like it is a common problem.

The guy at General Window actually suggested getting double pane safety glass with a thermal break instead of the double insulated because they have had so much trouble.

Most lumber yards seem to switch manufacturers every few years because of this.

That doesn't seem high at all. Good windows aren't cheap much less the labor to actually replace them.

3'0" x 5'0" or 6'0" are fairly common. A long slender window like a 30"x84" is definitely not typical.

If you go cheap now then expect to double that price in 5-10 years when the IGs go bad or the frames leak. If you're planning on moving in a few years, go for it. As a glass guy, I'd never put cheap plastic windows in my house. If either go hardwood or aluminum.

7' windows still aren't typical no matter the width and are costly

oh I'm not going cheap. Going double insulated, double hung, with that e-whatever it's called that blocks the sun. I had a client that pretty much did the same thing and hers were $270. Was just trying to figure out how my jumped up to $350. My house is only 8 years old & the windows are fricked. Ugly too. Can't believe they put that cheap as shite in here
