Replacement windows

Ho le hell.....
I've gone out for three quotes on replacing the windows on my house.
2 high pressure salesmen who kept pulling new "only today" numbers out to get the deal done and one guy whose price tag might as well have been attached to a pair of camel nuts.
This is worse than buying a car.
I won't be an OT baller for long if I give my money away for nothing.

Find someone locally who deals with Slocomb 677s and add ultra-Flect glass. Probably around 450-500 installed wrapped and sealed per unit.

Relief Windows has a sweet radio jingle.

Does replacing Windows require indoor trim and paint?

There's your problem right there.
If it were me, I'd keep shopping, even going to Lowe's or home depot. Then, start shopping them against each other. Just make sure when you are getting your estimates that they are all giving you the same product/services, etc.
Also, be a little cautious about extremely low bids. There's usually a reason why it's low. Have each estimator break down the costs into separate line items and Be sure to check every line item.
It will piss them off usually because they can't hide any hidden costs when they do that. Also, when you start shopping the bids against each other, you will have an easier time of showing them where they need to be costwise. Make them compete for your business.
Oh, and you're welcome

So what's the catch behind RW and WW 189$ per window? Is that the bottom of the line POS window. Then they charge you to demo and to install window ??

RW? WW?
RW: retro window?
If your window frames that you have now are in good condition and they are only replacing the glass, then $200 +/- doesn't sound unreasonable.
But I'm in southern NV. Material prices and labor are a lot more out here than in the southeast.

Negative. Just cut the caulk, kick out the old and set in the new.
I'm not going to call out any specific companies, but they are asking roughly 500 each

I did window world before and might go back this time. 189 + install + tear out + caulk + this + that

Installer is more important than brand. Fiberglass from pella is nice.

Relief Windows and Window World. Two window companies in Baton Rouge that advertise 189$ per window installed

Gotcha.
I would never go with a company that didn't come out and do an on site consult and estimate. $189 advertised sight unseen just screams we're gonna rape you on hidden costs.

Don't waste your money . Install more insulation and seal off leaks around door windows etc

Got quote from both window world and relief windows. For what looked like the same windows WW was at least $1,000 cheaper. Apparently, WW have lower labor costs. I leave that there for you to figure out. They did a good job though....granted my wife is a Latina and was present to answer their questions.

LSU Banker what was your approximate cost per window?
Posted on 6/22/16 at 9:03 pm to Mr.Perfect
I have Anderson windows throughout my home and love them. My parents have Pellas and they are really nice as well. You cannot go wrong with either of those brands.
