Options include just a copy, a notorized copy, an apostilled copy or a notarized & apostilled copy. Not sure anything but a duplicate copy is needed but my son lost his original & afraid what might be required for a future job application. Anyone with experience in this matter?

I have never been asked for a copy of the diploma. He’ll just need transcripts, which can be requested from the bursars office.

Am I out of the loop or is asking for a diploma normal? My initial reaction is that seems ridiculous.

I’ve never been asked for HR or a hiring Manager to view my diploma.

HR will ask you to send over your transcripts during the background check process to verify your degree matches your resume.

In order to get a copy of his diploma at LSU he will now have to renounce his white heritage, apologize for the colonialization of US, and kneel down and kiss Jesse Jackson’s arse. Is he prepared to do that?

I guess I’m not the only person who brings diplomas to job interviews.

Mine are all framed and hanging on my office walls. It would be a PITA to try to take them anywhere.

Thanks. Problem solved by a call to Registrar and transfer to Coordinator of graduation. Duplicates can now (as of last week) be ordered from a website (Parchment) that links to LSU Registrar.

I graduated in 1994.

My diploma was destroyed in Katrina.

Have had 3 jobs since then and have never been asked to provide a college diploma by an employer.

He will probably only ever be asked for his transcripts. I wouldn't waste money on it.

an apostilled copy

You only need this if you are planning on working out of the country, which it sounds like is the case.

What kind of job after your first one asks for any school related stuff and what kind of job ever asks for the actual diploma? They going to read the script text and see your name on it or some shite?

Weird request

As Louisiana ascribes to the Napoleonic Code, any Saint is appropriate.

St. Joe of Burrow would be my recommendation.

Never ever heard that. I would immediately pass on you if I was hiring and you came in with your diploma

I don’t think he needs it. I’ve hired dozens of people for multiple companies and never asked someone for proof of their degree. Even the entry level positions, if they can pass the interview questions they’re in. Technology jobs.
