I feel like this was the plot of "The Slums of Beverly Hills"
The dad made the kids live in a hotel in Beverly hills so they could go to a good school. Natasha Lyonne was in it.

Houston and Dallas private schools are like 40k a year
I’m signed up to pay at least that next year for kindergarten. That’s after the ‘financial aid’ and no meal plan. Fml

No one gives a shite really, unless they are good at sports and someone reports them

Or just live in a state that isn’t a complete shithole.

you would be better off buying a small house and leasing it to someone else

What if the family you lease it to has kids? Can your kids and their kids claim the same address for the school district? I suppose you can tell them your 500 sq ft house is a multi-family home.

Wouldn’t it just be cheaper to send your kids to a private school…….

One of my neighbors did this. Still has house in nice neighborhood but moved to a small house towards Prairieville.

You would be committing fraud.

Not that I’ve ever heard of anyone actually being investigated or prosecuted for doing what you’re describing or using a relative’s address in another district, but I guess all it takes is for you or your kid to piss off the wrong person who knows you don’t live in district.

Why not just pay for private school with the money you’re using to rent a house?

You can, but it doesn’t make your kid eligible for sports. They’ll do a residence check. If you’re not living there, or in the process of selling your home it won’t pass.

I’ve seen people move and keep their house on the market for 2 years until the kid graduated. Then move back in the first house, and sell the new one.

The way around a lot of it is to get into the middle school in 8th grade. When they move on to the high school no check is needed. Unless someone turns you in for living out of district.
