They're not.
Look up bump fire stocks.

About 10,000 people will die in car accidents. Better ban those Toyota’s.

And a good majority will be alcohol related.
To answer the OP, they're not for sell.
But with the internet, anyone can turn their gun into one with a little machining.
Just like they can build bombs.
Just like they can rent a truck and mow down crowds of people.
Blame the person. If they want to kill, the tool doesn't matter. It's been proven at this point.

They're not for sale, dumbass.
Thats not completely true...
They are for sale, just difficult to get the required permits.

Some can be modified to automatic fire.

Maybe you can explain why the sale of heroin is allowed..?

Not really.
Do me a favor, go to your local gun shop and pick up and automatic weapon.
Let me know how that goes.
If you're lucky, six months from now after the ATF has been up your arse, you might be granted permission. But most likely, YOU won't.
Until then, you can go buy a gun (if you pass background check) then watch countless videos on how to turn it into an auto.
Not all that hard to do.

Let’s wait and see if it was truly an automatic weapon.

Are you really that freaking stupid?
Technically they are allowed for sale IF you pass a microscopic background check (way deeper than the regular background check), can afford the tax stamp (last time I looked into it over $10K), register yourself and the weapon, and go through a whole lot of other crap.
My bet is this automatic weapon (and it does sound auto in the clips I have heard) was either illegally modified semi or was illegally obtained.
In short - full autos are not easily obtained.

Remind me again, why are some sporty vehicles capable of going 150 miles an hour when the speed limit is only 70 mph in practically all states.

While we are at it bombs should be illegal too... Oh wait...
Posted on 10/2/17 at 6:43 am to TheMailman
I wish dumb arse people would realize that criminals do illegal things. If one wants an automatic weapon, they either build it, convert it, or buy it illegally.
Just like someone who wants to smoke crack. There are laws that don’t allow the sale of it, but people who want it find a way to get it.

The better question is why aren't they for sale. The correct answer is we are a post constitutional nation.

You can actually bump fire an AR by putting you thumb thru a belt loop and pulling forward on the weapon to manipulate it. But yes it probably was a bump fire stock put on.
