I think he considers it poor form to reply to him in his own format and vernacular.

ld me that the reason their refuted beans at Ponchos were so smooth and creamy is because most of the left over bread from tables was put into the beans. They even washed the cinnamon/sugar off the sopapillas and put them in the beans.

How would that make them creamy?

When I was 17 I had my wisdom teeth cut out. I wasn't able to eat "normal" food for about a week. My first unbridled meal was at Pancho's in Bossier, next door to Ralph and Kacoo's. I started with one of everything, then raised the flag several times for as many sour cream enchiladas they would bring me. That was in the late 80's. Around 2007 I went to a Pancho's in Tulsa and realized why my parents never wanted to go to Pancho's when I was a kid. Still love the memories and wouldn't trade it for anything - hard not to crack a smile just thinking about those days.

My Dad and I ate at the one in Bossier at least once or twice a month when I was in High School. I loved it.

I knew it was doomed to close when I moved back home after retiring from the Army and they had fried chicken on the buffet line. Sure enough, they closed 3-4 months after that.

Cheese enchiladas, chile rellenos, and rice with cheese sauce were my go to items

Writing 1824 on the flag and raising it was fun

We used to smash the one on Johnston in Laffy. We lived in Opelousas but something took us to Laffy at least 3 times a week. Normally tennis at Beaver Park. But my grandpa would take my two brothers and I twice a week. He would ALWAYS do something to try and embarrass us Usually it would involve lifting his leg up on one of the benches outside and scratching his balls in front of one of the windows, or trying to sing and dance to whatever song was playing when we walked in

I used to smash the rice, beans and flautas. On occasion Id branch out and get an enchilada. I was young so I didnt have a very refined palate then. After that came the main event.......sopapillas! God were those things fricking addictive. Id eat a basket of them myself

Those were the fricking days man.

There was one right off of 59 in Hattiesburg right around the 08 time frame. We went once and it was terrible. They didnt last very long.

Everyone knew the rules when eating at Panchos

Never eat at one further than 15 minutes from your house and never on a road trip
