I'm from New Orleans, but lived in Atlanta for 14-years.

The answer is easy - Atlanta...and it's not even close.

Then NO is not an option.

This has got to be a very subtle troll thread.

If not:

OP where are your extended families located? Will that influence your decision?

Ultimately what is the best opportunity for your family, not just the best career opportunity?

If it were me, I would choose Atlanta for my family, even though it pains me because I love New Orleans.

I grew up an hour outside of Atlanta, so there's that. But the public schools are awesome, professional sports, close to the mountains and coast. Nothing against NOLA, but ATL offers more.

Alpharetta or Central City is an easy choice. Living outside of those, it gets tougher.

You've got to make a decision if you need to ride your bike to work or not

Alpharetta by a landslide. Great public school system, beautiful area, no crime, plenty to do and close to Atlanta proper.

We both are from a town about halfway between Atlanta and New Orleans so neither city will be closer

Oh damn son, you ain't finding a place where your wife can garden AND you can bike to work in New Orleans. Unless you want to bike several miles on roads not very friendly to bicyclist

As a lifelong NOLA resident, I vote Atlanta. Bigger cities have so much more to offer in terms of schools, amenities, housing, and job market compared to Nola. Unless you have been here before and are absolutely in love with the culture, go to Atlanta where they have more opportunities.

What is it with you tards always freaking out about the idea of someone raising a family in New Orleans? Can someone update the bubba training guide to teach people about New Orleans?

NO is a shitty version of atlantic city. Fun for young single people but not where you would want to raise kids. The schools suck, the roads suck, and the government sucks. Add the fact that the crime rate, cost of living, and insurance is higher it is almost a no brainer that raising a family in Atlanta is better than new orleans. Also for someone who presumably travels a lot by air the ATL airport is far superior.

See this Corch post? This is why trolls love starting N.O. threads on the OT.
