Maybe OP can come back and clarify.
Title says “relocating to the Gulf Coast”.
Yes that includes places in MS, LA, or TX, but I don’t think Baw is moving to Lubbock

have no idea why anyone would pick LA or MS over TX.

South MS, AL or Panhandle FL would be my preference over anything in TX

Lots of people posting The Woodlands and that is a good choice, but I'll throw out the alternative of Clear Lake or Friendswood. Good schools, close to the water and much closer to Houston area plants you might visit, plus very close to Hobby Airport for Southwest flights.

If you don't have to live on the coast then Fort Worth, or somewhere in the corridor between San Antonio and Austin might be a great spot.

I am assuming you have still got family in south Alabama. If that is true, I would recommended either Madison or Ocean Springs, Mississippi depending on whether you want to be on the coast or not. Both towns are very low crime and good school districts. Much lower cost of living than a lot of areas.

Honestly I would do a quick job search before moving out the Carolina's. Nothing on the Gulf of America will be as nice.

I swear I read that as Relocating the Gulf Coast. My first thought was frickin' A Trump is going to fill in the Gulf of America with the bones of illegals and the price of Louisiana homeowners insurance is going to plummet since it would then be 200 miles from the coast.

I like the area around Seminary and Collins, slower pace of life and low cost of living. Very old school. Great people.

IDK. The beaches in AL/FL. The food along the Gulf of Ametica (seafood, BBQ) is better too. Better fishing. Milder winters.

figured the best place to get advice would be from the super smart members of the OT.

This is highly dependent on your needs, family, and what you enjoy.

The OT is filled with middle to older men who do nothing but complain on the internet all day, are scared of any city, and can’t go out to eat without carrying a weapon.

This place is good for a lot of things, but major life decisions isn’t one of them.

Live on the Mississippi coast. Pass Christian has great schools and Delise elementary is really good. Just my 2 cents good luck figuring a big decision like that out.

This has actually given me a ton of useful information so thank you all. I maybe would have to drive somewhere once a month. Company oddly hates flying so would rather me live in Mississippi and drive to Corpus Christi occasionally than buy a plane ticket. Yay corporate.

Also, I got stuck in a several hour battle on the phone with health insurance about what's in network. Wouldn't wish that on anyone.

I'm just required to live in one of those 3 states. That's literally it.

I'd move to somewhere near Gulf Shores otherwise.
