In the facetious scenario I was joking about, the cops coming in.

I don’t think they are going to find what they think they will find.

99%, if not 100%, of Fed Ex trucks on the road are contractors. In this case I would believe that to be true because the Fed Ex statements was “we were saddened to hear...” implying this is a contractor.

Fed Ex won’t be liable here. The insurance company of Billy Bob’s HotShot trucking certainly won’t bend the knee.

His death is entirely his own fault. You have no sympathy from me and I’m glad that driver did what he did.

He was interfering with inter state commerce.
He was on a vehicle conducting interstate commerce.

How it that apart of a peaceful protest?

If fed ex pays his family maybe we should all jump on fedex trucks and claim the same thing. We could claim we were having a peaceful protest and fed ex forced us to jump on their trucks.

Is there a TV attorney who will represent us?

Even if they had gotten him freed, my guess is at least one of his legs had been ripped apart, thus his femoral artery was likely severed. Without someone there to properly apply a tourniquet, death would have been swift.

Of course, as you stated, that would have required someone to put the damn phone down and try to help. The exact same thing happened with the David Dorn case. Instead of helping the poor man, people were just taking video. Some segments of society are just past the point of redemption.

I can't believe they got him to stop in two blocks.

By the time I stopped he would have been a two-mile skid mark.

What was he doing on a highway with an angry mob blocking traffic and dicking with a truck that didn't belong to him?

man who was killed after climbing between two trailers of a FedEx truck during an interstate protest

You know an easy way not to be killed by an 18 wheeler? Not climbing between the trailers of one that is moving

No kidding. The man had absolutely ZERO legitimate reasons to be on that trailer. His death was his own fault.

This will come down to jurisdiction and jury. Litigating this will cost millions. If they think there is a smattering of a case, will be much cheaper to settle and get rid of it. I have seen people with no case or claim get small settlements. Its all a numbers game..

Ding Ding Ding Ding....BS meter going off! Any time you see this in an article regarding an AA it’s a dead give away of a reporter/newspaper/family working their angle into a storyline. Ironically, from the town that gave us he’s a good boy, he was fixing to start college in da fall, & hands up don’t shoot. Welcome to the Lou the N.O. of the North...old & rich deep French history, great food, & a total Dem. 60+ yr. stranglehold on local CITY, not county government. Yeah, what innocent soul on this board would jump between a still moving piggyback & try to gain access aka break into the bed of a FedEx truck?
