Good info, guys, because I have no intention of paying this ticket.

They'll send you a bunch of threatening letters but they don't do anything. I believe they'd have to change the current laws in BR in order to enforce them. I guess we'll pay them if they ever do that

Except to turn you over to a collection agency and have the non-payment of the fine end up on your credit report.

THIS DOES NOT HAPPEN IN EAST BATON ROUGE PARISH.

If and when it becomes policy, we'll get plenty notification.

Toss them in the trash for now.

I've read on local news before that the LAWS are in place to enforce them via the credit report and even traffic court if they wanted to go that route like Orleans Parish does.
The missing link, however, is your SSN associated with your license can NOT be given to anyone so there is no legal way to tie your fine to your credit report.

That will likely change in the future. But like I said, they'll tell us about it way ahead of time.

A has gotten like 4 or 5 of them. We both drive through a camera intersection daily leaving the house. I'm going to owe them about a grand if they ever start enforcing it

My fear is retroactive enforcement. I only have one from Scenic @ Blount(frick that light).

I'll be interested in how constitutional THAT would be to put derogatory marks on your credit for something in the distant past.

I got one in my name once and I wasn't even driving the damn car. I actually had never driven that car in my life but it was in my name. I paid that one before I realized that you didn't have to

ETA - damn teenagers man

I got one here in AZ one time.

I wasn't driving the vehicle and it wasn't registered in my name. I don't own a vehicle remotely close to the one on the ticket. The only thing was the person driving had the same last name as me. Never met this person, no relation to me. My name isn't very common but at least several hundred here.

There's some "officer" that rubber stamps these, how they picked my address who knows. fricking scumbags. Total scam. My wife got a few over the years that went to the shredder. This one I kept to show people.

It 'da been cheaper if a cop saw you run it?

Try not running a red light --next time you might kill someone.

Maybe not, but at least in that case it would have been legit.

Get off your high horse. The majority of times people run lights it's not at all unsafe. They can tune these nanny state revenue generators to be super aggressive and fine for slightly misjudged yellows, which if you don't drive a particular intersection often is easy to do. And don't try to tell me that slamming the brakes is safer than skating through a little late. The cross traffic light is delayed to account for this, but you don't know what the guy behind you is thinking. A lot of the fines are also for rolling rights, which is not unsafe at all assuming no pedestrians and the speed isn't outrageous.

A real cop would make a judgment call in these situations, whereas these camera systems are set up to maximize profit. When law enforcement becomes less about protecting and serving the public and more about generating revenue, we need to reevaluate things.

He apparently was turning right on red, but did not come to a complete stop. However, all they have is a still photo of the Jeep in the right turn lane while the light is red. How do they know he did not stop?

Lemme guess... Sherwood and Coursey??? Becuase if so then theyll be waiting a long time before I send them the money for my ticket as well.

Take a dump in the envelope and mail it to them.

Don't go to the website either. They will know someone accessed the pic and the IP address. Then you have to pay.
