hi all!

we are bringing our h.s. senior down from indiana, friday, oct. 17th for a prospective freshman open house at LSU and need recommendations for a good hotel (anything from high end to decent chain hotels is fine) that is close to campus. we will be flying in and will not have a car so something within walking distance (in a safe area) would be ideal. if taxi service is readily available, something further away would be fine. i know nothing about baton rouge and would appreciate suggestions.

thank you!

Lod Cook Alumni Center Hotel is on campus, but we have a home game on the 18th so most everything close to campus will probably be booked.

I got a hotel for the State game last minute at the Extended Stay America on Corporate Blvd and I was honestly very surprised. It was really clean.

Not too close to campus, though.

There is one on Nicholson near the Sloot Towers.

The Cook hotel is the only one on campus. Other than that I would try downtown. It's a very short cab ride.

Yeah you should just go ahead and rent a car. Like others said...Lod Cook is the only one on campus(and will likely be booked already). No other hotels within walking distance. Baton Rouge just got Uber recently...but isn't the most public transportation/cab friendly city.

Off-campus areas to look at:
hotels near Acadian/I-10
Constitution Ave or off College Dr.
downtown
Essen Ln (NOT Staring Motel!)

Cab service in BR sucks, but you could always try Uber.

My apologies, never heard of it. Just looked it up online...no rooms available for that weekend anyways.

Ten Flags or Alamo Plaza are your best bets for good rates

La berge has some type of bus service to and from the game. I think it's run through cats and you need to buy a ticket before game day. Lod Cook is nice if there is a vacancy.
