I'm in need of a new pair of work boots. Doesn't have to be steel toe, but I'm not against them. Not looking to break the bank so around $200 is gonna be my ceiling.

My job requires me to be out on the floor of the machine shop a few hours a day, so they will be exposed to oil based coolants on the floor sometimes. So they need to be oil and slip resistant/proof. They don't have to be bulletproof, but I do need them to hold up. I've had trouble with the rubber on the soles separating from the bottom of the boot/shoe. The oil gets into the rubber and deforms it and breaks down the glue so I end up with the sole just literally separating and flopping around. Anyways, I need something that will hold up to some light work, not be super expensive, and of course, look good.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Danner.

I wear the Vitals. 8", non-insulated (but definitely warm), waterproof, and out of the box comfort is like a tennis shoe

The boot store has this gadget that you step on and recommends insoles for you. Guys who’ve bought them swear by it.

You can probably find a pair of Red Wings for around $200. They might be slightly more but they'll last forever. For example, these are $230.

Blundstone boots have oil and slip resistant soles. I like mine.

They're more booty/ankle boot syle than traditional boots, so some baws may think they're for girls.

So they still have holes for moisture to get in though?

Red Wing
Wolverine
Ariat
Danner
Rocky

All a personal preference...go to cavenders and try on 10 pairs, then buy online

hate to admit this but, and they're ugly as sin, but since you dont need protective toe

Keen, most comfortable boot I own

I'm wearing the Tractor Supply store brand right now. Two years old, wear them every day. Heels are a little worn down, otherwise like new. Less than $100.

I bought a pair of the Trakwelt Wellington 11" boots for work a few years ago and they fell apart immediately. Both soles came apart at the treads. Never had a pair of boots be that shitty so soon. I have some wolverines now that are doing much better and are very light compared to those.

I'm wearing these now and I wouldn't change a thing about em. Going on year 5 with them.

I haven't worn boots for work in a long time but Red Wings were always my go to. Plus, you can get them repaired/refurbished.

I have a casual pair of Red Wings that I've owned since like 1997 or so.
