The story is in the Dailey Mail and won't let me copy the link

Three year old Rebecca kept asking her mom for a puppy. Mom found a several year old rescue dog, Tater Tot, which she was told was a Lab. They had the dog ONE DAY, and the dog bit the little girl's face and shook her like a rag doll. The dog apparently ate some of her muscles.

The pictures are terrible. That a rescue organization must take some responsibility seems a given. That too many not very nice dogs are going to homes which have no idea of what they are adopting.

We wanted to adopt a small dog when our oldest was 8. We picked out a pair of dogs that had to be adopted as a pair. Brought our current dog, they got along. Brought our son, they did great for an hour. We did the application and scheduled a home visit. By time we got home we had an email saying were were rejected... The reason was stated but when we questioned them they said they couldn't adopt a small dog to a family with kids. There solution??? One of the large dogs... the pit bulls and Staffordshire terriers and mixes with those breeds.

At least I was able to pull their corporate sponsorship from the company I worked for at the time.

Rescue operations are probably the biggest peddlers of breeds of peace out there. They are POS who lie and muddy what kind of dog it is as much as possible.

It wasn't two individuals. My computer has something against Daily Mail and I couldn't get back in the story to check her spelling. I apologize for not knowing what the problems are with the da**ed computer, but my husband who knows a lot more than I do couldn't get the address to copy either.

I thought some folks on here near there might be able to help that family.

Unfortunately this hits close to home for me.

When my daughter was that age she suffered very similar injuries due to being mauled in the face by a neighbors dog.

She recovered from her physical injuries (although permanent damage was caused)

The emotional and psychological damage from that event she still deals today, as a 19 yo. (No pics)

My heart goes out to this little girl and her family l

Absolutely.
I wouldn't call that a lab. It's part lab, maybe.

Since this was a foster, not adoption, was the dog not vetted yet?

Regardless, I would never be carefree with an adult dog and such a small child, for at least 72 hours after taking one home. Certainly wouldn't be comfortable with the child rolling on the floor kissing it on the snout on the first day.

What kind of retard would believe that’s a Labrador.

No you retard, you don’t adopt a fricking pitbull.

Gosh, I'm soooo sorry. Must have been, what do I do, kill the dog AND the owners!
My thoughts are the owners first.
So sorry!

She was lied to.

How can you not know

1) thats a fricking pit, and
2) its MOST DEFINITELY not a fricking lab.
