Typically associated with depression and/or traumatic event. Sad people don't like going outside or doing anything active. I honestly think that getting to that 300 lb mark has more to do with lack of movement as it does calorie intake.

Stress, heredity, traumatic childhood events leads to eating and or drinkinking a ton which further drives depression and a sedentary lifestyle an a vicious cycle of eat more, drinking more and doing less. Have a lifelong friend that will be dead in 10 years if he doesn't pull out of this.

Wouldn't say typically. It's certainly true of some overweight people, but it's probably not more than 10%.

There are many factors at play, but eating is very fun and losing weight isn't.

And it's quite a catch 22. Once severely overweight, it is difficult to excersize. It hurts to walk, let alone jog, jump, bike, etc. again, I often feel sorry for people who suffer from obesity.

I used to blame obese people but since I hurt my knee I've gone through extremely sedentary periods and haven't gained any weight.

I don't diet, I don't exercise and I have a desk job but I stay the same weight no matter what. I am only 15 lbs heavier than when I was eating healthy and mountain biking 20+ miles every single day.

I've come to believe that people who weigh 400 lbs have something else going on. I think your metabolism is greatly determined by your genetics and your upbringing. If you have shite genetics and/or you were sedentary growing up I think it's a huge uphill battle to lose weight.

The same way porn addictions and alcoholism and couch potatoing work. We train our minds and then we just go through the motions. It's pretty easy to eat two bags of chips and a pizza.

I guess depression in the loose term that it applies as today. If you are sad for a few weeks everyone tells you to get medicated. But others who don't show their sadness can suddenly find themselves staying at home and avoiding the gym. Once they realize they are approaching obesity, it's almost to late. Self image works with your body's natural tendency to want to keep up with the status quo and boom... you weigh 350.

1. i don't have a fast metabolism in the first place some peoples genetics just wont' ever let them get big. i played basketball and when i stopped playign the weight started adding up

2. i was starting a business and didn't have money or time to cook right so i ate shite food that was cheap. i can stretch 15 dollars for one week of food i'll feel like shite but i can do it

3 depression i felt bad beause i had isolated myself and was loney so i would eat to feel better

Honestly once you hit a certain point you kinda just stop caring and eat whatever you want. You can imagine how liberating that is, just eating whole pizzas and shite and not caring.

Of course it sucks arse when you're on the back end and have to lose it all, it was hell and wasn't worth it to get there obviously but yeah

99% of fat people are that way because of lack of self-control and lack of exercise.

We live in the Victimhood Era, where nobody is responsible for anything and everyone is a victim of something. It's bullshite.

My ex-wife is an overeater in search of a support group.

She could go weeks eating normally and then eat a box of Little Debbie's after breakfast. She'd end up eating a frozen pizza for lunch, and then shuffling us off to dinner so that she could suck down a burrito.

She packed on 60 pounds in a year, lost it and then some over 3 years, and packed it on again. She looks like shite now because the body doesn't age well when sugar is your only nutrient.

Overeating is just like booze and drugs. Fat people just wish it were different.
