Just sold my house in Cinco after 2 days and had a cash offer and 3 others over asking.
Of course, the house we are buying in Cinco west, we had to put an offer in the day we saw it.

Valero is only in Houston. You may be thinking ChevronPhillips.

Yep, my house has almost doubled in the last 5 years.. Thx Exxon!

Not sure where your office is but have you looked at the Friendswood area?

I was thinking the same thing. They are building a espn/google like work campus correct?

It's not just The Woodlands and other suburbs. I bought my house in the Heights April of last year and similar houses(1920's bungalows w/ similar sq. footage) around me are now selling for 25% more than what I paid for mine.
We're also receiving a big boom from Exxon. Two of the houses on my street were recently bought by Exxon folks that want to live closer to the city.

Can any of Houstonians tell me anything more about Mont Belvieu? I went over there the other day to look around.
Looks like Barber Hills ISD is one of the best in the area.

Whats the appeal to living in Houston or Dallas and being crammed up each other's asses and stuck in traffic all the time?
Houston traffic >> BR traffic

She would be intent to moving back to Baton Rouge and I have no interest whatsoever in moving to that clusterfrick.

If you play golf, Eagle Pointe is great course...other than that, I have nothing.

I knew about the golf course. My dad has mentioned it 100 times.

Because there's not too much else out there from what I remember. Eagle Pointe and the drag racing track.
That's why some people like it though. It's pretty calm, you can still get a decent sized lot, and you're only 25 minutes from Houston in case you need to head to town. Plus it's easy access to the ship channel if you work there and the Chevron Phillips, Exxon, and Cedar Bayou plants.

It's not a highly desired area like other suburbs which can be good cause it's cheaper. I'm not familiar with schools there.

Briargrove is so bad that you have to have an agent that is specifically connected to it. They don't put homes on the market. The agent knows the seller's agent and they give each other a wink and a nudge and a deal is done. It's fricking insane. The Heights and Oak Forest are also going ballistic. Houston is just growing way too fast.

What job, Exxon? BHISD looks to be a good school district, not excellent - not shitty. There does appear to be a lot of new homes being built for slightly cheaper than the hot areas of Houston. I know Mt Belviue is a small town and not sure what there is do do there. Youre close enough to downtown Houston if you needed some excitement though

My Dad worked in the oil field in Houston for over 25 years. We started out in Bear Creek, then Katy, then Bellville. I remember the last bust and it was not pretty, but my Dad commuted that hr and half drive one way everyday.
My point is that it's okay to work the the oil field and commute some.
ETA: But would I do it? Phuck no.
I bitch when my 7 minute commute gets delayed by an old person or a train.
