Beautiful children. I don't think my legs would hold me up going through what they are going through today. Going to school one day and having a double funeral several days later .... I pray for peace, but I honestly don't know how you get that under the circumstances.

As bad as it gets.

On a side story. My great great grandparents lost all 5 of their kids in one week to diphtheria. They had 1 more kid , a boy, left Kansas and moved to Crowley. The rest is history for our big family.

Man, with two children similar in age, I tear up looking at those precious babies.

Just terrible. I hurt for them.

And again at 5:30 pm.
I’m not even sure how one recovers after such tragedy. God Bless their beautiful souls!

Worst thing I think I've ever seen happen around here. Absolutely brutal.

It’s not like you go to the reception after the burial and tell funny stories and share memories of your 90 year grandfather.

Has there been any information on why the guy didn’t or couldn’t stop?

Heard the truck driver killed himself last week. Still pray for all families involved.

Not seeing an obituary for James Barnes in Rayville yet. Are you sure about this?

My God.
Cannot imagine what he's going through. He's going to replay that scene in his head for the rest of his life.

More tragedy on top of tragedy. Mr. Balls may know more. He lives there.

this reminds me of an accident in north GA back in July. We were on the way back to the Atlanta area after dropping our boy off at a week long summer camp, and officers had blocked off an entire 4 lane highway (on both sides) covering about 1 mile. Everyone had to detour around it. Come to find out a woman and her 2 children were in an SUV and she tried to cross that highway (no stoplights at the intersection) and got hit by another car. Everyone in both cars were killed, and that wife/2 kids were that of a local Sheriff's Deputy. Kids were 6 and 3.

A buddy of mine just lost his sister, brother-in law, and 2 of their 3 kids in an accident in Alabama this weekend. The 3rd child survived.

Entire families getting wiped out is just unimaginable.

Heard it from folks who were over that way this weekend. Hopefully it’s not true.

I have not heard that. I know the truck driver and his family. I called and checked on him early last week. He is not taking it well and his family was concerned about it but I have not heard anything else.

It is a terrible and tragic situation all around. The truck driver is retired but still has a CDL and just drives during harvest to make money a little extra money. He was not speeding (going < 50 mph in a 55) but has just checked his mirrors and was checking his speed. Never saw the car slowing down until it was too late. Prayers for everyone involved because everyone involved in the accident is going through some type of living hell. Even the first responders are taking it rough.
