Technically the 2007-2014 models were not the bankruptcy trucks. They were actually excellent offerings when they came out, and were leaps and bounds better than the “Batman” looking T800s that was rightfully ranked last. The T900 trucks stuck around too long because of financial issues with GM.
The 2014-2016 models were more of the bankruptcy trucks. Their design was very conservative, and they used the same frame as the T900s. GM was designing them while they were broke, so they came later than they should have.

agree on late 90s being timeless and classic, immediately pussified in the early 2000’s

Maybe it's because I was in high school during this period and both my first (93 Silverado) and second (98 Sierra) trucks were from this era, but this body style will always have a special place in my heart.
My 93 Silverado was a 2WD single cab with an aftermarket CD player, but nothing to write home about. Lots of great memories though.
However, my 98 Sierra was an extended cab Z71 with mud tires and a brush guard. I loved that damn truck and still think about it
On a related note, I would have done awful things when I was in high school and college to get a 2 door Tahoe. Hell, I'd still love to have one. My wife and I have an agreement that I have the green light to buy one as a weekend/hunting vehicle the minute I come across one in good condition with low miles.

I was with you until the mid 50’s at #2.
