re: Rank the Worst SEC States To Live In

1. Mississippi- The old saying "Thank god for Mississippi" exists for a reason.
2. Kentucky- Other than Lexington, Louisville, Bourbon and horse racing the state has nothing of note to offer.
3. Alabama- I love my alma mater and Tuscaloosa, but other than Ttown, Huntsville and parts of Birmingham... nope.
4. Missouri- Kansas City is ok. Saint Louis is a crime ridden shithole. No one cares about anything in between.
5. Tennessee- If it wasn't for Nashville, Tennessee would be a desolate den of hillbillies and Memphis thugs.
6. Arkansas- Beautiful state and Fayetteville area is pretty cool. Little Rock is a shite hole that I hope to never visit again.
7. Louisiana- I'm not into the NOLA scene, but I'm fascinated by the history of the state.
8. South Carolina- Love the low country. Charleston is an awesome city. Kiawah Island is a place that I could live.
9. Texas- Booming economy. Austin is cool. San Antonio has a lot to offer. Could be higher if the Cowboys weren't there. Also, too many Texans.
10. Florida- Own a condo on the panhandle and spend a decent bit of time there. The only problem is, kind of like Texas and Texans, that there are too many Floridians.
11. I'm obviously biased, but I love Georgia. Well, north Georgia, Savannah and the Golden Isles anyway. Great economy, fast growing population, mountains, beaches, professional sports and everything else within a short drive. Tons of history.

12. Louisiana - Call me a homer all you want. I am from here I have spent time in other places, nothing compares to Louisiana. Where else can you go fishing catch load specs that morning. Go to the best best SEC tailgate in the afternoon/evening and watch LSU (college football team)play. All in the same day? Then cap the weekend off by going to church in the morning then watch the Saints in the dome.
No one is arguing you can't party there. That's not the top of my ideal qualities of a place to live though.

Rather have a hockey team.

I'm so glad the Rankin County school bond proposal passed last night.
I was pleasantly surprised. We live in Madison, but the dynamics of Rankin are interested. You have the Madison-minded people at the Reservoir and half of Brandon, but the rest of the county is primarily redneck and traditionally doesnt support education initiatives beyond Friday night football.

You can't even catch redfish in Tennessee.
But you can catch a shite ton of Rainbow Trout. Here is the state record (16 pounder) caught in Tenneseee last June.

How many SEC Schools have a hockey team since this thread is based on SEC States?

Swap Savannah for Nashville, Atlanta for Memphis and white trash for hillbillies in #5...and you have the description for Georgia.

I personally love Louisiana so there's an inherent bias for me.

quote:That would be false, Florida has the 4th highest GSP behind Texas, California, and New York. Plus it's one of the best states for starting your own business. I know Florida gets a lot of hate on this board but objectively it's better than pretty much every state in the south that isn't named Texas.
Georgia has the best economy outside of Texas

Florida is considered the South? I mean the panhandle, sure, but otherwise there isn't a lick of southern culture in florida. It's like a cubano New Jersey

I'd rather live here in South Louisiana than anywhere else in the South. At least people here don't talk funny.
Where else in the south have you lived?

Bruh I did not know this.
WTF
But in my defense it is division 3 hockey and none of the games are played on the universities campus of course. Also it is only in its 8th season. LSU plays their games in LAffy.

Lafayette has a huge hockey scene so that's probably why.
