How in the hell are people ranking Louisiana first. Complete dump compared to most of the other states.

I lived in Virginia when I was in the service and in North Carolina when I got out. VA was ok, I would not choose to live there again. NC was a great place to live and we will probably end up back there at some point. Hopefully all the Yankee transplants haven't ruined it completely by then. The only other southern state I would consider living in is Florida.

Come to Naples. It's great down here on this side.

Louisiana's not a pretty state and there are a lot of crummy towns, but I can look past that and enjoy everything it offers.

I wouldn't want to live there though. I can't imagine live in N.O., for example.

No/sc/va. Wouldn’t consider living in the others. Not close enough to real sand and clean water. Btw. I do have a condo in fl and live in sc

You have nailed it. Keowee is getting a bit crowded on weekends. Lake Lure in NC is the place.

Trust me, I'm thinking about it. The last time I looked at Florida real estate it was that Gulf coast stretch from Naples up to Tampa.

My Dad and all his family are from Ocean Springs. One of the best towns you will find anywhere.

1) Mississippi (particularly Hattiesburg and south)
2) Louisiana (would have been ranked first, but sheesh - the politics!)
3) Georgia
4) Florida
5) Alabama
6) Tennessee

Then something, something, something...
