The 5th gen also had a shite air conditioner. In August the cab never got cool. Come to find out they designed it in a way that the air always blows over the heater coil, even when using the AC.

I am currently parts manager at a CDJR store, our group has Ford, Chevrolet and CDJR. I have been parts manager at the Ford store as well. I think I might have a general idea about service issues across brands. The truth? They are all pretty damn reliable. Each brand has their own “issues” that vary by platform, drivetrain and trim packages. When posts like this come up I usually see all kinds of anecdotal and n/1 studies that generally lack substance and have an abundance of nonsense. When asked, and I do get asked a lot, go drive them all. Which ever makes you smile, buy it. Develop a relationship with the dealer, and if you are one of the VERY FEW that have issues, you will get taken care of.

I've heard beware of the EcoDiesel, but not the V8.
That said, I've always maintained the those big, dumb V8s are the best you can buy. Reasonable gas mileage nowadays, reliable, and power if you need it.

What’s this? Really liking my 2020 but the AC isn’t the best.
