Not a fan of dodge but I admit it seems like a nice feature. Not having to lift past the tailgate would save my back

It’s not a bad feature. The GMC one is nice too. I think most of the people that opt for them won’t be using them though.

I know the OT isn't a fan but I've had mine for a couple of months and it's fricking awesome.

I wish other trucks would copy the Ram Boxes.

Same here. The more I think about it, the more I dont like it. Imagine trying to load 10 sheets of plywood or sheetrock in the bed. With the tailgate slpit like that, you now risk bumping/damaging the tailgate. Plus, you will now have to guide each piece between both sections of the tailgate just to reach the bed.
ETA for image:

ETA:
Even worse, imagine having a motorbike in the bed. Normally, the rear tire will rest on the tailgate.
This tailgate is as big of a fail as the "New Coke"

I think it also drops like a normal tailgate

If it drops, then that changes everything and I have no problem with it.

I think it also drops like a normal tailgate.

ETA:

And it is an option. I could see an older gentleman, or a guy who's wife drives his truck often using this. It is an option that allows Ram to capture a little more of the market.

It does. It’s also an option, not standard equip. Everyone can rest easy knowing a truck they would never buy will not come standard with this tailgate.

Bed side tool boxes. Sure they take up bed space but so do the ram boxes.

The Rambox is a much better-looking and well integrated option though, and likely cheaper when comparing equal storage capacities.

When I load and unload a couple 100 sacks of heavy feed in a weekend, constantly leaning over the tailgate, throwing the feed over the tailgate, and sliding over the tailgate is a pain in the arse

Not to take issue with your situation, but if you’re moving 5 tons of feed a weekend, you really should reconsider having a pickup truck bed to begin with. A flatbed and a forklift your problem is solved.

You buying one for the camp? And not sure how we are going to get the forklift back to the stands

How could you possibly know this unless you own one or have extensively test driven one?

I can read.

Dodge makes the best looking trucks easily, and their interiors look great, but they are always last in domestic build quality and reliability. Always.

I'm always loading and unloading things in my truck with a forklift. This would be great.

That tailgate can't do most of what the Ram one can. Yall can stop bringing it up now.
