Been very happy with my 2500 tradesman with the 6.4. Has the 4.11 rear end and 4x4 that’s about the only options listed on sticker. Was easily $5k lower than the other brands. First time ram owner and have been pleased so far. Damn shame a stripped down truck is still close to $50k though

As a Toyota guy that's very proactive with maintenance, I'm very disappointed that Toyota went that route.
I agree there. Although my 2013 has needed next to nothing, it’s good to pop the hood here and there and check things out as, unlike the younger generation, I know how to turn a wrench.

My company Ram pickup that is assigned to me has a plastic interior made of the same plastic that my garbage bin is made of.
So when I drive around in it I feel like I’m riding in my garbage can.

Looking at gasser 2500s.
I know you’re not buying a 3/4 ton truck because you care about fuel efficiency, but the difference between a gas and a diesel is considerable.
We had gas Ram 2500s at work and upgraded to the Cummins. It’s night and day.
ETA I’m not certain of GM or Ford but the Ram has coil over instead of leaf springs in the rear which causes the truck to squat under heavy loads. I hate that but it does offer a smoother ride.

Still amazed people buy GMC, RAM, or Ford knowing at 50,000 miles everything will fall apart. Please tell me why you buy these vehicles other than ‘you’re a pussy’ from the uneducated idiots. Please explain.
Agreed. I’ve had two Chevy Trail Boss and both had to be towed in within the first 5,000 miles. One had a collapsed piston, the other faulty fuel injector.
My next truck will be a Tundra. My buddy has one and has had zero problems while I had both issues.

I have a Chevy 2500 with 6.0 gas. Pull 10k trailer regularly. Very happy with the power and truck handles the load very nice. Had a 2002 dodge diesel which had better torque but the Chevy is not far off. Unless I'm pulling much over 10k often I see no need for the diesels.
No experience with the Ram gas engine so this may not be much help.

I got a Ram because my 2009 Tundra hit 260k and at the time the new Tundra was blowing up engines at 30k miles. I didn’t want to frick with all that. I would’ve got a Tundra had that not been happening.
It was time to put some money into the Tundra. Instead, I gave it to my dad.
I got a good deal on the Ram and got a nicer, better riding truck than the GMC/Chevy. I would’ve had to pay 7-10k more to get the same level of GMC/Chevy at that time.
