Would love to see someone say “you can’t use this term” only for the response to be “ummm ok, here is the list of items you need to get up to code then”

Skunk in the woodpile is the appropriate term.

I will say that after being here in Alaska I have realized that Eskimo is pretty heavily frowned on. It's much like the N word to many Alaska Natives.
When I went to Alaska, I was told the same thing. Don’t call them that and to watch out for moose, which kill more people each year then bear do in Alaska.

I had someone complain about the use of the phrase "rule of thumb". I always knew it about measuring something, but apparently someone thinks it's about controlling women by keeping them under your thumb.

English law allowed a man to beat his wife with a stick so long as it is was no thicker than his thumb.

I know a girl from Bethel, she uses the word eskimo all the time. She seems proud of it.

I'm going to guess her husband is black.
Came here to put that bet down.

See my original comment in this thread. It's white apologists and college educated folks for the most part that hate that word
Aleutiq is also apparently racist too.
The one that always bugged me was oriental, which literally means "from the east"
