I've been on and off of it for the last couple of years, still trying to kick the habit. I ran across this can of Smokey Mountain at my cousin's house last night. He's trying to quit too. This stuff looks like the real deal.

It has the same consistency and similar taste as dip. Closet fake stuff I have ever tried. And it costs less than a can of Redseal

Quit cold turkey.

You’ll be a miserable SOB for 4-5 days but after it doesn’t get easier.

It’s going to suck for two weeks or more.

I quit in 2011. I still get the urge to dip. It was much worse to kick than cigarettes.

Good luck baw.

thats what i did after years and years.

for me though, i kinda had a plan and this is how i did it. i started saying i guess in summer, that i was quitting in february, after hunting season. told everybody, family, friends, S/O, everybody. told it and repeated often to them all. when february came, threw a half full can out the window and never looked back. i think the reason this worked for me, i had mentally geared myself up for moths that feb was it, plus, i had told so many people that i was quitting that i was not about to look like a liar or failure when i didn't. I'm kind of a "if i tell you I'm gonna do it, I'm gonna do it" type guy and that worked to my advantage on this. decide you're gonna quit, set a date, tell everyone, and throw it out. don't look back.

As someone who has dipped for 15 years and been off of it for the past 3, the only way you will quit is if you want to. I did Smokey Mountain and other "herbal" dips. Quit several times for a year or so at a time, but this last time i got a call from my dad and they found a growth on my brothers neck. I had a dip in and spit it out immediately and have never looked back. My brother had it removed and it was non-cancerous but that was all I needed.

Trashier than cigarettes and I don't even know how that's possible.

Don’t quit. Do it in moderation. I’ll go weeks without thinking about doing some and then I’ll play golf and enjoy a good chaw.

Don’t see how dip is enjoyable.

I’d actually consider mikelbr-ing a cock before putting something as disgusting as dip in my mouf.

Do it baw.

About two years I had a tumor show up on the inside of my bottom lip. Scared the shite out of me, turned out to not be cancerous.

So before I had the surgery, I said to myself that I was going to have my last hoorah. Bought two logs, levi garrett, redman and beechnut. Dipped and chewed so fuking much. Once I had the surgery, I have not ever thought of the shite thank god.

TLDR; Found non cancerous tumor in bottom lip, dipped and chewed all I could til the surgery and never looked back.

So is there a question in this thread? Looking for a recommendation? Or to inform us that you're a trashy redneck that can't stop dipping?

Which of us do you think gives a frick if you use this can of dip or not?

Its been 2 weeks for me, cold turkey. Way easier this time around. Mainly used to dip at work and driving. The driving part is the hardest to kick. About to make a 2 day trek to Colorado with the wife and kid in tow, gonna be a hard not to snap the streak.

I tried weening off and the patch but I never really weened off and the patch just made me addicted to the patches (which are pricey as hell, btw).

It's like coffee as far as acquiring the habit. You probably don't like the taste the first time, but you drink it again and find it neutral at best, drink it again and think it's not so bad, next thing you know, you like the flavor. Then you're trapped.

But the first time you have it, it gets you to a 6 beer buzz, then goes away without the hangover.
