The money was an amazing thing for me as well. The LSU/North Carolina game road trip was the day that I actually quit, having started Chantix 2 weeks before. So this will be 9 years for me as well.

Gained a few lbs in the process also, and besides all the health benefits I no longer walk into clients smelling like smoke. At a pack a day going up in smoke, the money i saved in the first year bought a DJ setup for the tailgate that turned into a side gig during the holidays.

I tell the guys at work, if for nothing else, quit because of the money you're wasting every day.

Congrats. I am about 15-16 years removed now, one of life's better decisions to quit.

Would have been more impressive if you waited 12 more months for the big 10 year anniversary. Congrats anyway.

That's fantastic! You've accomplished something most fail at doing. Don't look back....

I quit probably 17 years ago. I remember the first cigarette I smoked and saw the guy on TV the other day that gave it to me. And I remember the last Marlboro Light I sucked down in my truck before I quit.

In addition to the money my health is much better even though yes a bit heavier but as noted above food taste a lot better. I threw away all and I mean all of my clothes and started over and a week later someone ran a red light and totaled my truck so I got a brand new non smoked in vehicle.

Worse thing I ever did was start. Best thing I ever did was stop.

That's the main reason I never started. Now, a cigar or pipe puff now and then? No biggie.

It has been scientifically proven that sugar cravings and nicotine addiction occur in a completely different part of the brain.

I quit 15 years ago in May . Even tho I smoked outside when I came in my 8 month old son would fight me picking him up I figured it was because I smelled like a shat can ashtray. Don’t think you can hide it with sprays and gum . You still smell horrible.
