Quietly quitting, or not giving more than required when there is no reward or consequence, is a predictable response by people who feel stuck in low growth, low challenge roles.

Of course. I don’t fault anyone for giving the effort they are paid for. I fault them for stopping there instead of making themselves more valuable.

My point has always been there are other roles. You are not indentured. You can change.

I, personally, am doing great and have no complaints.

I am just aware enough to realize that there are real structural problems that have not been addressed.

There are 50 pages of graphs and data proving these points.

These old heads can only deal in anecdotes. If they did not personally experience it, it did not happen in their smooth brains.

You grew up in a two parent homeowning household and your older siblings were able to go to college and you think YOU were in the thin end of the bell curve?

In many jobs that’s what they are doing instead of giving those extra hours to a project at work. They are working on a new cert, a contract gig, a side hustle. They’ve seen that going the extra mile isn’t going to result in any real reward at their current job.

I think that's part of their problem. No one is saying quit your job. They're just saying there's no reward for going above and beyond.

They have deluded themselves into thinking they are special snowflakes that just worked harder and are smarter than everyone else and kids are just lazy punks these days.

It is incredible.

If you call the opportunity to bust my arse a good break, and the willingness to do it, sure. But I got to college with less (materially and educationally) than nearly all my peers.

This is true. And I’m grateful for it every day.

My daddy got up and went to work six days a week. My grandfather worked seven days a week. I’m very glad to have been given that work ethic. If you weren’t, I’m sorry for you.

No, that SHOULD be the default.

Unfortunately, we started paying people to breed and the nuclear family died.

The Left started REJOICING single Moms as if it were the norm, and we started headed down the shitter.

Wanna fix the world:

Stop paying people to breed....

Start shaming birth out of wedlock....

I get that. You should work to the level you are valued and compensated.

But you shouldn’t stop there.

That’s what you are missing.

Make yourself more valuable and move to a place you are valued.

37% of “men” who are between the ages of 25 and 30 still live with their parents.

You are probably arguing with a few right now. I was out on my own at 18. When will these kids ever cut the umbilical cord?
