We play speedgolf regularly - shot 84 in 52 minutes with 4 clubs a couple weeks ago. Seen guys shoot 75 in 65 minutes and 90 in 42 minutes.

Damn that is fast. Played in a twosome where we were first off and finished in 2:45. That is how golf should be played. Anywhere from 2:45-3:15 is perfect. Hard to do unless you are first off.

I can't remember how fast we used to do this, but when I was stationed overseas me and a couple of guys would speed golf when we got off of work in the afternoons for PT. Rules were we had to carry our bag of clubs and only stop running when we hit the ball, jog in place when others are hitting. Most of the guys out there were military so they would just let us play through. We would even wear our PT uniforms lol I want to say we would get in 18holes in 2 hours or less.

You should be ashamed to play a round of golf in 4.5 hours that isn't the final round of a major.

Played 18 in 2 hrs 15 min with a buddy in a cart, never took any practice swings and shot one of the best rounds I've ever shot.

This is why I quit. Can't stand playing behind your slow arse group.

Yep. Municipal courses are afraid to tell people to hurry the frick up. When they do people usually give them attitude and say something like "I paid my money. I can play at the speed I choose." This is a big contributing factor to golf courses suffering now. New players with no respect for others time.

I can only make time for 9 holes now, never mind I would easily be able to play 18 in the same amount of time without hacks grinding out their triple bogeys in front of me.

ideal club yes, but this is usually not at public courses

Yeah because there are guys out there wanting to play a 4.5 hour round, because they are "shooting a good score." This ain't the PGA. Play ready golf, take a couple looks at a putt and hit it, move on.

Played Gulf State Park a couple years ago, and I had the first tee time (like 7:33 or something like that). When I got there the guy who was supposed to be paired with me was a no-show, so I teed off alone.

Finished my round of 18 in an hour and 48 minutes. And I shot an 81, one of my best scores ever (the course is pretty easy though).

I don't play super fast golf, but I just go to my ball, take a couple practice swings, and then hit. But it was awesome being able to play at my own pace without having to wait on anybody in front of me the entire round.

Fun day.

Yeah I booked a tee time today by myself at 12:52. There shouldnt be many people on the course since its so hot and the middle of the day on a weekday. I hope to be done under 3 hrs but this depends on if I hang in the clubhouse after the front 9. I may need a break from the sun and need to restock the beverages.

Fastest walking was 49 minutes for 9 holes. With a cart, I played 18 holes in an hour and 17 minutes. That same day I teed off at 5:00 as the course had an "all you could play before dark deal." I got in 57 holes.

Yikes. Courses where it takes so long are off my list. Every round - at a minimum - needs to be less than 4 hours. Even going over 3:30 sucks. I have no need to take 7 practice swings and am always ready to hit when I'm up. I don't play expensive balls so no need to spend more than 30-60 seconds looking for one if I'm in the woods/shite. My score suffers a lot when the pace slows. No rhythm at all.

Bout 5 hours to play 18. I have to look for my ball after every shot. Great times

So you actually shot around a 60.

I finished 18 in just under two hours once with a buddy when we really didn't have time to play that day. Can't remember the score, but it was no worse or better than usual. I play fast naturally and only get slowed by others on the course.

My dad and I routinely knocked out 18 in 2.5 hours or a little more back in the day.

A buddy and I finished 9 a few weeks ago in an hour and 10 minutes. Caught up to the crawlers in the 9th fairway so the back ended up taking over two hours.

I routinely walked 9 in under 45 min when I played on the golf team in college.

I walked the Valley course in Birmingham in under 2 hours about 10 years ago. Hit it in the fairway, knock it on the green, doesn't take long. Playing from the back tees too btw.

Arthritis is catching up with me now so walking is out. I could use a cart and break 2 hours 18 anywhere if nobody is in front of me still though.
