One trend I hope dies off soon is the giving of boys names to little girls. I know of parents who have named their daughters

Emmanuel
Micah
Bryan
Once I heard a woman calling her daughter Owen. I had to look twice to see if it was just a really feminine boy.
Kelly and Ashley and Aubrey are one thing, but come on. Dylan?

We had two requirements for a name.
1) Cannot be shortened.
2) First name will be what they are called (not the middle)
I suffer from both myself. Oh how I hate #2.

Worse than those are girls with names ending in "-son", like Carson and Addison. Sorry, you ended up with a daughter!

The "den" names take the cake though(Aiden, Caiden, Brayden, etc).

Seriously though...as a Christian I felt very uncomfortable calling the baby by his name. So I just would call him little man, tiger, sweetie, baby boy, cutie pie....anything but his name when I was caring for him

I can't remember the middle name.
Thing was...family was supposedly Christian as well(they all wore crosses and mom was always reading from a Bible). So I don't understand either. Seems very blasphemous imo.

Naming a kid God seems blasphemous to me as well.
It always struck me as odd how the name Jesus is very prevalent among Latinos. To me, it sounds odd, but I am sure they mean it as an honor to Jesus Christ.

Also took care of a RodJesus....not the spanish way of saying it either
ETA: When family would come to visit and we would ask who they are here to see they would say
"I'm with Jesus"

We named our son Ronald Jeremy _________, but we just call him Ron-Jeremy. People give us the strangest looks when we call his name.
