What's your overall feedback on the vehicle? Thinking about it.

The range is my only complaint. Great as commuter car, otherwise F'd.

Going to be interesting once they roll out more supercharging stations and autopilot features.

It's not ideal, but you can tell one functionality they are building towards is the ability to drop you off somewhere that can occupy your time, self drive to a recharge station, and come back later.

Here's a cool story about Alex Roy (famous-ish cross-country record setter) who "drove" a Tesla across the country in less than 60 hours. The car drove itself 96% of the time. I think in the next couple years the supercharging stations will become much more ubiquitous and allow the Tesla to replace people's gasoline cars for longer trips.

Still, i prefer to drive as far as my bladder will allow on long trips, 200 miles then stop long enough to recharge? No thanks, I'll wait. If I could afford an expensive town car, I'd be in, though.

it takes a long long time to "supercharge" i cant imagine what tesla calls a regular charge. It wont be feasible on long distances till you can fill it like a regular car, which is in 5 minutes or less. Nobody has the time to stop for 45+ minutes to recharge a few times a day on a long trip

If you're at a "supercharging" station, they say 85% charge in 20 minutes or so.

Lots of charging stations around here so not that worried about range.

The cheapest Model S has a 240 mile range, the 90D is pushing 300 miles. You could take a nearly 500 mile road trip and only stop once to recharge. Stopping twice would get you 700+ miles down the road. How often are people really taking trips that long? No one said these cars were meant for traveling salesman but the average family could get by just fine - provided there are Superchargers available on the route. Louisiana, Texas, and Arkansas are nearly devoid of Supercharger stations for now.

This is the projected map for 2016:

Don't even bother with this guy. He comes in every electric car thread spewing the same garbage.

I think Rapid Charge stations take on the order of 20-30 minutes but not certain and not certain if that gives you 100% charge or less.

ETA: saw someone else post 85% in 20 minutes
