Most are not even that, they are CNAs or dental assistants.

most medical office personnel seem to wear them, the old lady used to work in medicine, she said it was common for the doc to give them the choice of wearing street clothes or scrubs(perv, and God bless them)

The most comical thing is seeing people that aren't doctors (medical equipment salesmen) who wear scrubs around town.

Medical sales people mostly wear business clothes. The ones in scrubs are usually medical device reps who are supplying things like ortho appliances that will be used in a procedure that day, most of the ones I know were trained as PAs. They bring them to the OR and remain available to resolve any issue that my occur when their product is placed in the patient. They have to go from facility to facility and are constantly in and out of the OR, what would you suggest they wear?

I agree...What's the reason for anyone not dealing with patients to be wearing them?

Yes. At my hospital, different departments have their own color. Labs, X-ray, respiratory, ED, etc.

They should rethink this. They get their panties all in a bunch because calling them the emergency room makes them feel small, but then I see this shite and just think they're the weirdos who just enjoy looking at limp dicks all day.

I saw a resident at a restaurant wearing a scrub top and dress pants. It looked utterly ridiculous.

I prefer to wear scrubs instead of the dress clothes and lab coat, however the patients seem to follow instructions better when I'm in the dress clothes and lab coat costume.

probably because of the excessive scrub wearing, they don't know the doc from the bed pan cleaner

That does sound absurd, but maybe he ruined his white dress shirt at work with one of many possible substances while caring for a sick patient?

but for real though, you can always tell who is a low level lackey like a male nurse, janitor, etc if they wear scrubs. all the real doctors are wearing a shirt, tie, and whitecoat for most of the time unless they are going into surgery

No nurse is EVER a low level lackey (even though assholes treat them that way).

And in a teaching hospital, there are a lot of people with shirts, ties, and white coats who are in fact clueless dipshits, even when they are real doctors, and not just 3rd years.

I'm not a Doc but I don't wear my scrubs other than to work. Unless, I have to hit up the grocery store or get gas or something like that on the way home.

I would want to get out of those things as fast as I could after cleaning bed pans all day

We still get nasty arse patients either way.
Just this morning I had a lady with no teeth and smelled like hell. And a shim that was "transitioning". And it's not even fricking lunch yet.

How often do you leave work and want to grab a beer or grab some food but don't feel like changing? I'm guessing it's not a rare occasion. It's no different for doctors.

I will say that 90% of doctors who work out in scrubs are douchebags.
