Generally insurance follows the owner snd not the driver in a vanilla accident. So, yes. The driver is liable as well but I’m assuming you have insurance on the car. And I’m not a lawyer and seek your own lawyer.

Also your license will get flagged if insurance lapses.

Why did you put your name on the title?

I'm no lawyer but can answer this - yes

If you are listed as an owner it's your responsibility.

And when she doesn't pay the note on time your credit will take a hit

But you don’t need your name in the title to co-sign the loan.

You may get sued but you could probably get out of the case if you didn't do anything negligent . The owner is not necessarily responsible for the acts of the driver unless the owner did something wrong such as entrusting the vehicle to someone he knew or should have knownwas an incapable driver. That said, I would rather not be on the title. Just make sure you have good insurance.

I smell something fricky going on.

Wonder if the OP “owns” the car and has insurance based on his risk factors, but the daughter really drives it 100% of the time. Yeah, they look into that shite now a lot more especially since she lives in another city and gets in a wreck.

OP is not telling the whole story I bet.

So you are saying if the car is registered to him, is involved in a hit and run, the cops aren't going to show up at his house ?

I can tell you this. If that car was not maintained properly like bald tires that caused the accident, you bet your sweet arse the injury lawyer is going after the owner.

I disagree, but in any event, the OP is not telling the whole story. Why is his name on the title? Is her name on the title as well?

Who’s name is on the insurance policy? Oh he edited to say she has her own insurance. So that changes things.
