That's what training is for. Seriously, take a class and train. It would completely change your mindset. If you ever work with women that was unfortunately been in that scenario you would understand. It's the saddest thing I've encountered.

That's silly. I know you can't tell from the news, but this is the safest, most prosperous time in human history. And you live in the richest country in the world. Live it up.

Not opposed to guns but there's never been a moment in my life where I thought "if only I had a gun right now." And if I were honest I'd say a couple of situations woul have been made worse.

Nothing against those who have guns - none of my business.

I have never owned a gun and never once feared for my safety. Besides, I have multiple swords.

Never had anything more than a pellet rifle. Seriously considering changing that.

Ok so I have absolutely NO issue with a responsible adult legally owning a gun to protect themself & their family.

A few points to make:
1) For those in the "they're coming to get my guns" group, take a step back & open your mind to a real discussion about gun safety/control in this country.

2) How on earth can anyone agree that a firearm like an AR15 is OK to be legally sold/owned by a civilian?!

And I wonder about your comment about the saddest thing you've ever seen...

What about a child who got hold of a gun & killed themself or someone else? Might change your perspective

No. But then again, I'm not a coward who needs a gun to feel safe.

I've never owned a gun, and have never had a reason that I wish I did. Then again I don't live in Nola or Baton Rouge.

I can't think of many things that would scare a man more, than a frightened woman cooking off rounds in his direction. Odds are his azz will vacate.

Like a seat belt, you never need it until you're in an accident, or a life threatening situation.

Wow. Could you be a little more condescending?

I didn't mean it to be. Louisiana is dangerous, and I think it is sad that people there (including my loved ones) have that danger in their lives. It is not like that in many many other parts of the country.
