Do you have a dog that drinks water like a horse?

I do. To add on top of that, his hair is a bit longer around his mouth and when he drinks, he drips across the house like a drooling monster. This is the first “big” dog I’ve ever owned. He’s 3 months old, so he’s still pretty clumsy.

Have you had this problem before? Do you still have it? How did/do you combat it? Did you follow him around with a mop?

TIA.

Help him out. Grab a funnel and let him butt chug his water.

I've found having a small dog solves this problem. The big dog is a slob with her food, water and messiness she brings in from outside.

I have two big dogs. One is a mastiff mix and drools all the time.

The water bowl is outside. We have a doggy door so they can go out and drink and he can drip the majority of it before coming back in. If we’re lucky, he shakes his head outside and not directly in front of the tv.

Can you trim the hair back?

My FBD and the mutt both slobber water all over. Good thing I love both of them so much are they’d be outside dogs like the others with the quickness.

I have a 70lbs lab that drinks like a fat guy doing a cannonball into a kiddie pool. This bowl catches 99% of the water while she drinks. Nothing you can do about the water dripping, besides maybe trimming the hair?

It only fixes half your problem

My English Bulldog makes a mess, but the old dogs will swing through whenever they come in and clean it up.

They make dog bowls to combat this. I have the same problem.

Google something like dripless water bowl and that will lead in the right direction.

We have a few of those gravity water tank/bowls around the house on tile areas with a small towel underneath (as far as we can get it from the wood floored areas).

We purposely have one of them in the master bath as a failsafe because we see it every day.

Only our Weimaraner drinks messily/drips excessively on his way back from drinking, so we’re lucky.

No. But I have a mother-in-law with the same problem.
