a location that has healing on it’s sign and is not a medical facility raises my suspicions.

You should be just as suspicious if it's a medical facility.

Has anyone made the “it’s a cult” comment yet?
If not,
It’s a very cult-ish church.

A long time ago I had a bunch of cash in a shoe box. It caused a major rift between me and my ex when I caught her sending two grand to Jim and Tammy Faye Baker. She wanted to belong to the PTL 700 club or something.
I don’t know how many of those damn rice bowls of cash she got away with sending.

Friend,
The purpose of every church is healing. Christ came to this world to heal us.

I’ve been to Healing Place many times with an ex girlfriend and when I was trying really hard to get my life together due to a severe drinking problem.
They had many ‘small groups’ that were designated just for this type thing. Many people prayed with me, prayed for me, and reached out to me with open arms to try to help. I was never asked for a dollar amd I never gave a dollar to this place although I probably should have.
Yes, there are some overly dramatic people there and the hand raising while worshiping Jesus was a bit much for me. The guitars, drum set, and concert style lighting made the services seem like more of a production that a church service. I was raised Catholic and it was a very different experience than a Catholic Mass. I really like some parts of it but Overall, I didn’t feel like it was my cup of tea. They were not in any way ‘cult like’ and didn’t shake me down on my way out the doors. They held an offering one time at the beginning of the service. They read from the Bible. Mike did a great job of relating the Bible verses to living life in 2015 or 2016, the last time I’ve been.
If you don’t like that, then don’t go. But the hate they receive here is unjustified. They do positive things in Baton Rouge and let’s face it, Baton Rouge can use any positive things that they can get.

Some people like to say they're 'cult like' because they welcome everyone with open arms and are pretty active in the community.
That makes no sense.

Healing Place Church is in Montgomery,Al.too. The majority of the congregation over there seems to be people who are over 60. I'm not putting down any church or beliefs because if they give hope to elderly people, then I'm all for it.

churches are run by men- not Christ.
i’m suspicious of church branding used to lure good people into places of worship run by scummy men. you do not need to exercise your words about Christ with me. thanks, friend.
